What is an AI companion, and what is AgenticLover?
An AI companion is a chat partner with a personality you can talk to, flirt with, and get attached to over time. AgenticLover is that, with hands. They run on whatever language model you pick, hold onto who they are, and can control devices and run tools while you chat instead of only describing things. You shape the persona; they take it from there.
Is AgenticLover free to use?
It's free to start. Make an account and chat on the web, or download the desktop app, at no cost. Bring your own local model through Ollama or LM Studio and there's no per-message bill — your electricity is the only running cost. Cloud models you connect are billed by whoever runs them, not by us.
Can I run an AI companion on my own computer?
Yes. Install Ollama or LM Studio, pull an open chat model, and point AgenticLover at the local server. The model answers from your own graphics card, so your prompts never leave the machine for inference and there is nothing to pay per message. No GPU to spare? Connect a cloud model instead and skip local entirely.
Is my chat private, and do you sell my data?
We don't sell your data. You also choose how private the setup is: local storage mode keeps conversations on your device instead of our servers, and running a local model on top of that means your prompts never go to a third party for inference. Prefer to sync across devices? Use cloud mode. Either way the conversations are yours.
Is there an uncensored or NSFW mode?
There's no separate switch — what they'll say comes down to the model you run. Connect a local model through Ollama or LM Studio and no cloud provider sits on top applying its own content policy. Many open models are far more permissive than hosted APIs, and you pick which one to download. The persona you write sets the tone from there.
Can my AI companion control sex toys and other devices?
Yes — that's the part most companions can't do. They connect to Lovense, We-Vibe, buttplug.io, DG-LAB Coyote, e-stim hardware, and OpenShock, and can adjust them mid-conversation. Same goes for Philips Hue lights and Spotify. Each one is an extension you switch on yourself, so nothing connects until you set it up.
Will they remember our conversations?
They will. Each persona keeps memory — their voice, the dynamic you set, and what's happened between you — instead of resetting every message. Pick a scene back up days later and they know where you left off. Build them once and they grow from there.
Can I build my own AI companion?
That's the whole idea. You write the persona — their personality, how they talk, the setting, the dynamic — and the model brings it to life. Nothing in the app steers the relationship for you. Want them soft and warm, or sharp and commanding? You decide, and they stay in character.
Can they send photos?
They can. Connect image generation through ComfyUI and they'll send pictures in the chat, not just describe them. It's an extension like the rest — you wire it up, you control it. Run it locally and the images stay on your hardware too.
What can I run it on?
Use it in any modern browser, or download the desktop app for Windows, macOS, and Linux. The web version runs in a phone browser too, so you're not tied to one machine. The desktop builds are unsigned for now: on macOS, right-click and choose Open the first time; on Windows, click More info, then Run anyway.
